answer me
the Metronome
sound
keeping pace
with silence
provoking sound
click click
tic tic
tic toc
we vacillate
in a rhythm
like a clock
12 by 5
minutes going by
heart beats
within the cycle
noise
chasing silence
expand contract
the fact is
it is all cyclic
the little drummer boy
is sleeping
widows weeping
widowers too
the children never knew
it was like this
until they weren’t children no more
the discordant symphonies
are beautifully playing
enticing with
impugnabilities
so sign along folks
yeah
i love egg yolks
they have color
and “causual” sounds
in the scrambling
me
over easy
please
for these knees are aching
while faking
solemn prayer
begging for
understanding
demanding delivery
clarity
from this surreal
contextual
perplexing
self vexing
dark hexing
indexing
conscious ride
and somewhere inside
i feel the ticking
and i hum along
resonating it’s vibrancy
flowing
with no knowing
as to what Ocean
the river ends
to do it again
and again
is this home
yet
is it i who must let
the sound
of that Metronome
cease
please
