i speak whispers
i spoke whispers to your heart
did you hear me
did you feel the soft gentle breeze
my presence of soul
as i walked by
many times i have visited
upon your heart
and the light was not on
for me
so i left a candle
for you in my heart’s chamber
hoping that one day
you would come
and provide the spark
i so desired in our communion
i paraded sassily
demonstratively
hoping you would see
my brazen cry
for your attention
but you offered me no movement
nor did you blink
for i was invisible to you
like that candle
i have here in my heart
for you
and yet
i am still whispering your name
in the place where dreams come to bathe
that they may rinse away the soiled thorns
that prick at their skin
hoping to deflate their aspirations
and infect them with a darkness
yes i whisper my hopes
into your past
that now becomes the time
that we eat the fruit
and you take heed
of the sweetness
i offer you
i speak whispers
