finding grace





you can reach out your hand
to help some one
you can stand by them
‘til the battle’s won

you can wrinkle your face
to make a smile
with a laugh from the heart
that knows not guile

you can look at them
straight in the eye
you can share a tear
when others cry

you can lift them up
whenever they fall
when there is a need
you answer the call

when another’s empty
you fill theirs up
if they have not one
you give them your cup

if you should falter
just try once again
and you’ll find grace
and a loving friend
