and i am free

i live in a realm of repentance

and i have wrapped my self

in the garment of forgiveness

for there are more ways

than i care to remember

that i have crossed the line

and require

to be forgiven

so it is not how i lived

but how i am living

that i focus upon

for the past is gone

forgotten

along with all those rotten

deeds and attitudes

i once embraced

and allowed others to taste

that i now

can not face

and my gratitude

is before me

about me

within me

and i am free
