‘twas the night before Christmas

i was seemingly alone

just me and my computer

and no ringing phone

so many of us

have lives such as this

where life appears barren

apart from dreams of bliss

we sit and we ponder

of grander things in time

that life is not solely

about who’s in my midst

for through it all

we must not quit
