seeking purpose

seeking purpose

so many people are digging

to get below the surface

searching for that elusive treasure

the one that we call purpose

man has been yearning since the dawn of time

for meaning why he lives

as time goes forth regardless

the degree of effort one gives

sometimes we try to measure

seeking our own self worth

vanity or not it’s worthless

for we’re still here on this earth

so we buy into illusions

and delusions in our mind

to give our life some meaning

yet purpose we not find

but there’s one thing you must know my friend

you had it all along

your purpose is how you live your life

and the beauty of your song

so open up your heart and listen

it has something it must tell

listen and share the music playing

and live your purpose well
