oh, did i say i loved her

oh,
did i say i loved her

i don’t quite remember
when she came into my life
it must have been that day
when i thought i was the sun
for her light was so intense
she brightened all that i was

where there was darkness
it fled
and i bled
naught but thoughts of goodness
whenever she crossed my mind
which was not often
because she was always on it

i think of the possibilities
of what lies on the road before me
and her
and the Stars begin to glisten
in the middle of the day
lighting my way
that my dreams
are seen
and i am redeemed
for she is all i ever needed

she speaks words to me
that move me
syllable by syllable
vowel by vowel
and her consonants
are constantly inspiring me
to want more of her
all of her
to taste her
hold her
kiss her
and i miss her
even when she
is right by my side

oh,
did i say i loved her

Tommy was a Good Kid

Tommy was a Good Kid

Tommy wasn’t a bad kid
just a bit disconnected
like most kids are these days

there really was no one to talk to
no one who could relate
to what he was feeling inside
and no one who could explain it to him

you see
Mom was doing the best she could
she was fighting her own demons
never enough money
no man

Dad gave his life to . . .
his country ?
over in Afghanistan
killing people
for no apparent reason
getting killed
for no apparent reason

there were plenty of guys
coming around
but mom,
she wasn’t having that

the other kids on the block
in the hood
neighborhood that is
were handling their biz
but Tommy
he wasn’t about those things
they were doing

and though Tommy was not much for Church
it seemed like it was the only place
he could go every once in a while
a be alone
there were a lot of lonely people there
maybe that is why they went there in the first place
because they could not face the world outside
so they went there to hide
and blamed it on Jesus

Tommy, he saw the game
and every time that Preacher shouted
in the Name of Jesus
they would either pass the plate
begging for money
calling it offerings and tithes

they had it all figured out
shout a little
a few Amens
and that is the formula
on how they put it down
again and again

Yeah, Church was entertaining
but it was not sustaining anything
for Tommy
it was just another game
with a few misplaced names

out on the block
Tommy’s peers
were on the clock
slangin’ that thang
that Ying and that Yang
that made people forget
what life was really about
you know
the struggle
of day by day
putting up
with all this false bullshit
what the hell was life about anyway
Tommy wondered

Tommy tried it a while
but Tommy wanted so much more
his style was not their style
Tommy could not relate

School ..
Tommy was a smart kid too
but what the fuck would Algerbra
and Mrs. Garenda’s Science class
do for you
or me Tommy thought

was life all about money
and things ?
Tommy had questions
but who had answers

sure many people thought they did
but when Tommy
surveyed and examined their lives
they didn’t have nothing
discernable going on
nothing Tommy would want
or that was sustainably meaningful to him

so what the fuck do you want Tommy
he would often ask himself
but again
the answers never came
and Tommy remained
disconnected
like so many other Tommys out there
and Marys too

Now what are we going to do
now that Tommy is dead

there is not a word

there is not a word

there is not a word
nor a family of such
nor exist a community
and a nation
i say thee nay

perhaps it is embodied
in a world
a galaxy
a universe
perhaps even creation lacks
when it comes to describing
the essence of your beauty

a thing
that only the Heart
of God should know

for we mortal men
and angels
can not see it
nor speak of it
‘tis too sweet to thy tastes

we are prostrated
before the throne
where your regality abides

e’en in the shielding
of my eyes
i am blinded

and who i am
melts away
that i may
be but of thee

and
there is not a word

for this is love

for this is love

my betrothed
i am thou beloved
i have come to this age
but to find thee

thy scent
emanating from the presence
of the divine
of the light
within thy soul
has directed my way
through all the realms
the wilderness
and i am here

i have come for thee
for you it is
that makes me whole

my soul
has suffered long enough
thy presence is my healing balm

take me to thy breast
that i may once again
suckle thy nectar
that which the Gods
envy me for

feed me
nourish me
that again
we may dance
upon the Nebulas
of all the Heavens
celebrating the language
the love
known only
by the Progenitor of Soul
of life

come my dear
expose your all to me
come naked before me
that i may taste
thy heart again
that which only
fading memories
reflect
come to me
come my love
embrace my eternities
in that of thine own

for this is love

once again

once again

there is a Storm a brewing
in the Heavens of all men
the Rains
The Winds
The Tears shall come
that they may purge
all Souls of past Karmic Debts
we will be forgiven

living will take on
a new meaning
and the Children of all Federations
from all Lineages
of Light
will adorn theirs wings

Hope will be the guest of honor
she will come
and pay homage to your dreams
for it is thus
that has been her Salvation
all these years of her bondage
to the nether ether regions
where black Holes
sucked men’s minds
of their magic
of  manifest God

yes, the Storm comes
the Planets align
that they too may not be shaken
from the Celestial embrace

prepare ye, prepare ye
let go of thy feeble intent for goodness
and receive the dictums of perfection

lie in the furrows
of the Garden of your memories
eat of your own fruit of goodness
transform
that which has stained the notes of time
into  the divine music
and sing the song
once again

Beautiful you

Beautiful you

my dearest beloved
beautiful you
flower of life
blossom
and let me inspire
and be filled
of thy fragrance

let my aspirations
skip with my longings
in our communal ecstasy
for you are here

spread thy wings
enjoin them to that of my own
let our hearts embrace
as we look upon the face
of eternity once more

whisper sweet memories
of times when we danced
joyously smiling
unfettered brows
for there was naught but light
and sweetness about us

flower my love
open your petals
let me suckle
at thy breasts of time . . .
forever and now . . .

embrace my dreams
as that of thine own
in the now
of eternity
as one breath
one thought
one heartbeat
beautiful you

a reflection of you.

a reflection of you.

i want to write but words of beauty
i want the Hand of God
to etch my sketches
and expressions of love
on Heaven’s Streets of Gold

and let all the children
of the universe
be versed
in the ways
of my souls’ movements
through the stillness
held in the exquisite places
and upon the faces of Angels

let my lyrics
evoke a quiet
visited upon
the rivulets and waves
of the waters of spirits

can you hear it

let them pour forth
for the hearts of all men
that they may drink me in
and i will purge
all urges
that lead men’s path
beyond the Garden’s Gate

and let all clerics
preach
and teach of naught
but of the colorful dance
of the thoughts
and melodies i espouse
in this house
built by Sources only
sustaining harmonic visions
that embrace all of eternity
upon it’s nurturing breast

let the words i write
“BE”
of beauty
let the words i write
“BE”
of love

let the words i write
“BE”
of a reflection of you.
